Tuckey url Contribution or Modification: redirect mode for hardcoded pid/14 in big texts

Could we optionnaly extend or contribute to the tuckey url rewriting filter project in order to add a new "redirect" mode so that the brwoser can be redirected to the right url when it encounters some hardcoded pid in a big text url and rewrite it dynamically to a "clean" pageXYZ.html ? Something similar to what the Apache more rewrite is already doing with links in big texts.
