Home page redirects: what's the goal of this feature if not present in the login boxlet?

What is the goal of the home page redirect for end-users (cf: admin center: user details) if the login boxlet on the default home page of the prepackage demo does not support it? (users provided with the online demo have a default home page which is configured to redirect them to their MyPortal page).

I think such an option (similar to Jahia 5) should be added in the Jahia login boxlet (optional option if needed that the template developer could rapidly turn off if needed). But this should be available by default with the online demo for test purpose and to be sure that user or group redirect are working correctly.
