It's the normal behaviour of Jahia, since the retrieving works only with queries, until the content is indexed it can't be displayed. And then, the container is empty the first time you access it (unless you wait that all indexation tasks are done before going to your home page).
that's a functionnal problem, which may be disturbing the first time you go on a page just after an import, but I don't see nowadays a way to workaround. except desactivating caches on the areas, which is not recommended at all.
