Site based descendantNode query always requires at least one more constraint to function properly

With the new query tags, if you only specify a site based descendantNode constraint, it does not work unless you add at least another constraint. This is not documented anywhere and also is not logical as it is a perfect use case to just specify a site as descendantNode (or childNode) and nothing else.
